Madigan Announces PFBC Boating Facilities GrantHARRISBURG – A municipality in the 23rd Senatorial District has been awarded a $27,000 state grant by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission to improve their boating facilities, according to State Senator Roger A. Madigan (R-Towanda). Madigan said Loyalsock Township will receive a grant totaling $27,000 to construct a new permanent restroom facility at Riverfront Park on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. Additionally, a water access point will also be added to the outside of the restroom building for a future boat washing station. "I am very pleased that this project was awarded a grant," Madigan said. "Boating and recreational opportunities are prevalent throughout the Northern Tier, and this funding will allow more people to enjoy Pennsylvania's outdoors." The Boating Facility Grant Program funds are derived from boat registration fees, state fuel taxes collected on fuel used in motorboats, and taxes on fishing equipment and motorboat fuel from the Federal Aid in Sport Fish Restoration Program. No state general funds are used for any Commission programs.
